Stud-and-socket fastenings.-A fastening device for attaching a member to a plate or for securing plates together comprises a body portion, a shank, and an L- or T-shaped head a. The head is passed through a slot in a raised portion of the plate c and turned through a right angle, thus compressing the raised portion between the head and shoulders f on the body portion. Stops e are provided in the slot to prevent further turning. Fig. 3 shows the device used for securing together two plates c, c<1>, notches d being provided into which the shoulders of the body portion turn. The plates may be insulated and the device used as a plug to connect them. Fig. 5 shows the device used as a handle and securing means for the parts of a razor. The top plate c<1> may have a projection passing through the blade and the shoulders may be stepped.
