Abstract

418,042. Two - part couplings. CHLORIDE ELECTRICAL STORAGE CO., Ltd., and DEAN, H., Exide Works, Clifton Junction, near Manchester. Aug. 25, 1933, No. 23666. [Class 38 (i).] An accumulator terminal comprises a tapered post a containing a nut b and over which is forced a fitting f, to which the cable is secured, by a bolt e having a collar d which withdraws the fitting when the bolt is unscrewed. In the modification shown in Fig. 4, the fitting f is split and provided with a tightening bolt h and is engaged by the bolt e through a slotted extension. The bolt can thus be removed to enable the fitting to be used on a solid post.
