[Class 38 (i)] [Also in Group XXXVII] A socket contact comprises a bent strip b and a loose conducting block c embraced by it, the block being constrained to approach the strip by resilient arms b<SP>1</SP> pressing on its face c<SP>1</SP> when a plug contact is inserted into the socket. The strip has a projection b3 which engages a recess c<SP>5</SP> in the block to locate it, and a slot to permit the movement of a binding screw d for leads in an aperture c<SP>4</SP> in the block.
