Abstract

734,429. Two-part couplings. YOUNG, S. G. Nov. 23, 1953 [Nov. 21, 1952], No. 29518/52. Class 38 (1). A socket contact comprises a U-shaped resilient member having tongues 4, 7 struck from the limbs 2, 5, respectively, each tongue projecting into (as shown), or beyond, the aperture left by the other tongue. The plug pin 8 is shown partly inserted in Fig. 3, the limb 5 being at this point pushed out of parallelism with limb 2, and when the pin is fully inserted (Fig. 4, not shown) limb 5 springs back to its original position as shown in Fig. 1. In another embodiment (Fig. 7) the tongues 11 are curved to correspond with the pin curvature, and struck from the edges of the limbs. In another embodiment (Fig. 5, not shown) the member.is of double U-shape. The limbs may be separate and connected resiliently.
