Abstract

816,373. Binding-posts. GARNEROT & CO. (CONSOLIDATED AGENCIES) Ltd. Nov. 4, 1955 [April 23, 1955], No. 31589/55. Class 38 (1). Clamping means for a lead comprises a U-shaped member 1 having a hoop-shaped clamping member 4 embracing one of its arms 6. A compression spring 5 acts between the other arm 7 and member 4 to clamp a lead between the latter and arm 6. In a modification, Fig. 2, member 4 is retained in position by a depending portion 8 on arm 6 which is apertured for the passage of the lead 17. Member 1 carries or is formed integral with, a plug pin 2, or other coupling member, which may extend from the base of member 1, as shown, from arm 7, or from a depending portion 10 on arm 6, Fig. 5. Fig. 7 shows another construction wherein arm 7 has an integral terminal tag 14 and the spring is located by projections 15, 16.
