Abstract

922,153. Brush holders for electric motors. ELECTROSTAR G.m.b.H. Oct. 5, 1959 [Feb. 24, 1959], No. 33664/59. Class 35. A carbon brush assembly for an electric motor comprises a one-piece housing 1 containing a carbon brush 5 projecting from and removable from the housing solely through an opening at one end thereof, a clip 7 contained wholly within the housing and abutting against an end face 15 at the other end of the housing and having an arm to receive a cable connector introduced through an aperture 9 at or near the other end of the housing, and a stranded wire 6 and a compression spring 8 connected and disposed between the brush and the clip. A hole 10 to receive the assembly in the motor may remain rough and be of different shape from the housing, and the assembly is secured to the motor by a single screw 12.
