Abstract

1,058,278. Two-part couplings. FABBRICA ITALIANA MAGNETI MARELLI S.p.A. April 30, 1964 [April 30, 1963; Feb. 26, 1964], No. 18078/64. Heading H2E. In a plug or socket connector, each contact member B is clamped at one end B2 to a conductor and is held in a slot A2 in a resilient support A1 by a boss A4 which extends into the slot from the support and engages in a corresponding aperture B4 in the contact member, the gap between the end of the boss and the opposite wall of the slot being smaller than the thickness of the contact member. The body of the connector, including the support A1, is moulded, and as described, the contact members B are blades with tapered ends B1. Entry of the latter may be facilitated by forming the slot with a sloping wall A6 or by providing a further slot A8, Fig. 6 (not shown), to weaken the support. The slot A8 can be blocked after assembly to lock the member B.
