Abstract

822,253. Two-part couplings. SIEMENS. SCHUCKERT (GREAT BRITAIN) Ltd. Dec. 24, 1957, No. 40041/57. Class 38 (1). The core screens of a multi-core cable are individually clamped between conical metal surfaces in a plug connector. The cable cores 3, 4, 5 in the cable entry portion 21 of the plug body pass through conical apertures in a metal seating member 13 and cylindrical apertures in a metal clamping member 14. Located in the cylindrical apertures are tubular members 15 which embrace the cable cores and have tapered ends 16 fitting underneath the core screens such as 31 so that when members 13 and 14 are drawn together by screws 18, the screens are clamped between the ends 16 and the conical apertures in member 13. The assembly of members 13 and 14 is clamped in the plug body between a shoulder 26 in the portion 21 and an earthing ring 20.
