Abstract

643,627. Two-part couplings. WEBB, C. D. H., and PLESSEY CO., Ltd. June 22, 1948, No. 16709. [Class 38 (i)] A socket contact comprises a sleeve 1 having one or more slots 2 near one end into which projects one or more indentations 8 on a resilient tube 6 forced over sleeve 1, said indentation providing contact pressure on a co-operating plug pin. The sleeve 1 is spun over at 7 to retain the tube 6. In a modification the slot or slots 2 extend to the end of the sleeve. According to the Provisional Specification one or more tongues may be provided on the tube as an alternative to indentation.
