Abstract
451,990. Plug couplings. CARR FASTENER CO., Ltd., Nottingham Road, Stapleford, and WAGSTAFF, G., 122, Dennis Avenue, Beeston, both in Nottingham. July 24, 1935, No. 21046. [Class 38 (i)] A socket, formed from a single stamping, comprises two sets of spring members, one set bearing on the plug and the second set bearing on the first set to prevent the socket splaying. As shown in Figs. 2, 3 and 5, the socket consists of spring members 8 to bear on the plug and other spring members 9 having extensions 12 which are bent round the members 8 to reinforce them and prevent the socket splaying. The connecting wire is joined to member 10 whilst the socket is secured to a mounting strip by lugs 11. The spring members are suitably curved as indicated in Fig. 3. The lugs 11 need not be provided in which case the blank is cut as shown in Fig. 7 and the socket is mounted between two members 17, 18 as indicated in Fig. 6.
