Abstract
387,156. Bed-settees. STEIN, J., 23, Dumbiedykes Road, Edinburgh. March 9, 1932, No. 7022. [Class 52 (ii).] In a convertible bedsettee having a folding bed frame attached by links to the underside of the settee seat and pivoted at its inner end within the settee frame, the rear intermediate section of the bed frame is supported by the upper arms of a pair of levers pivoted intermediate their ends, the lower arm of each lever being connected by a spring to the rearmost section of the bed frame. The seat 8 of the settee is pivoted at 9 to a fixed frame 7. The bed frame consists of four sections 11 .. 14, the section 14 being pivoted to fixed brackets 15, the section 13 being carried by levers 16 pivoted at fixed points 17, while the sections 12, 11 are connected to the back of the seat 8 by pivoted links 18. A spring 20 connects the lower arm 19 of the lever 16 with the section 14. The lever 16 has secured to it " L " lugs 27 which support the section 13 in the folded position. The inverted seat has ball castors 29 and the frame 7 has castors 10. The back 25 is adjustably carried by levers 26.
