Abstract

386,433. Bed-settees. GREAVES, F. A. and THOMAS, A. J., (trading as GREAVES & THOMAS), Northwold Road, Clapton, London.-(Seng Co. ; 1450, Drayton Street, Lincoln Park Station, Chicago, U.S.A.) Jan. 6,1932, No. 390. [Class 52 (ii).] In a convertible bed-settee, a folding mattress frame A formed of sections hinged together, is connected to a vertically displaceable settee back 5 which is raised automatically when the mattress is unfolded. The back 5 is connected to the main frame of the settee through links 7, 8, the lower one of which is pivotally connected by a link 12 with the inner section 13 of the mattress frame, and is attached to the latter by the engagement of a hook 15 with a stud 14. The back is maintained in the raised position by the links 7, 10 which are then inwardly inclined. A plate 19 is secured to the seat 6, and legs 20 are pivoted thereon. Links 21 are pivoted to the upper end of the legs and to the seat inverting mechanism, so that the legs, which lie alongside the seat in the folded position, are erected automatically when the mattress is unfolded.
