489,046. Bed-settees. WOOD, A. W. Feb. 11, 1937, No. 4094. [Class 52 (ii)] A convertible settee or arm-chair of the type in which the seat is adapted to be moved from its normal position and to carry with it a collapsable framework which forms a bed frame, comprises a main base frame 1, a frame formed by a number of side parts 5, 6 hinged to each other and to two transverse end members 4, 7, adapted to be extended into an oblong bed frame or collapsed and obscured within the dimensions of the settee or armchair, opposed side members 5' of the bed frame having pivoted thereto a pair of main supports 8 pivoted to side frame members 1 of the settee or arm-chair body, and links 9 and levers 10 connecting these two main supports 8 to spring means 11 which yieldingly oppose the folding up of the bed frame and assist in moving the main supports to a position appropriate to supporting the bed frame in the extended position.
