Abstract

331,534. Cram, J. April 3, 1929. Bedsteads convertible into seats.-In a convertible bed-settee of the kind comprising a foldable mattress frame made in four sections 4, 6, 11, 14 the rear intermediate section 6 is connected to the rigid couch frame by two pairs of links 7, 8, the pair 7 being knuckled-jointed, to fold when closing up the bed. Springs 9 assist in the opening and closing of the bed, and the rear section 4 is pivoted, preferably detachably, to brackets 5. A pivoted foot member 18 serves to retain the bedding in position at the foot of the bed. A strap 32, secured to the underside of the seat 29, and a swivelling cross stay 17 cause the outer sections of the mattress frame to fold when closing the bed.
