I claim:
1. A convertible studio bed comprising: a supporting frame with a back; a bed frame movably mounted in said supporting frame so that it may be tilted back and forth from a horozintal bedformingposition into a downwardly and rearwardly inclined seat -forming position; member hinged to the back of the supporting frame so as to be substantially horizontal when the bed frame is in inclined position; a back rest having its top portion hinged to said shelf member and its lower portion linked to said supporting frame by pitmans substantially parallel to the shelf member so that said back rest may be swung up from a front rearwardly inclined position to a rear upright position adjacent to the back of the supporting frame; and a pair of links connecting thep' that movement of the back rest to upright position will move the bed section to horizontal position.
2. A convertible bed as specified in claim 1, in which the front portion of the bed section is pivotally connected to the supporting frame and stops are provided on the supporting frame to hold the rear portion of the bed section when lowered to inclined position.
3. A convertible bed as specified in claim 1, in which tension springs are connected to the connecting links and to the back of the supporting frame to facilitate movement from inclined position to horizontal position.
4. A convertible bed as specified in claim 1, in which the upper pivotal connections of the links to the pitmans are disposed in front of the rear pivotal connections of the pitmans to the supporting frame when the bed frame is in inclined position, and said upper pivotal connections move upwardly and rearwardly to a position adjacent to the back of the supporting frame and back of said rear pivotal connections 386,433

6. A convertible bed as specified in claim 5, in which a stud is provided on the shelf member so as to engage a hole provided in the back rest '0 to lock the slide when said back rest is in rear upright position.
