A bed settee comprises a base 10 having side support members 11 and a fixed front member 13, and a folding bed structure 18 comprising articulated sections 19, 20, 21 adapted to occupy a coplanar bed position extending outwardly above the member 13, sections 20, 21 being pivotable with respect to an inner section 19 to assume an intermediate position, Fig. 4, with section 20 upright and outer section 21 inverted above inner section 19. Supporting links 24, 27 are pivotally connected to side supporting members 11 and to the inner section 19 for swinging movement of the bed structure 18 from the position shown in Fig. 4 to a folded position, Fig. 5 within the base 10 with the inner section 19 lowermost and the outer section 21 in the same horizontal plane as the top surface of the front member 13. Locking levers 34 are pivotally supported at 35 on the inner section 19. A locking linkage 37, 38 on the outer section 21 moves the section 21 downwardly into parallelism with the inner section 19. A link 32 connects each lever 34 to a link 24 so that when the bed structure 18 is folded the lever 34 pivots and engages a locking stand 36 which pivotally connects the links 37, 38.
