Abstract
385,849. Air compression and storage. KUDOLLA, M. P., 4958, Lawrence Avenue, Chicago, U.S.A. May 27, 1932, No. 15113. [Class 8 (i).] An air-compresser 12 is driven by a motor 16 and delivers to a tank 10. The motor circuit is controlled by a make-and-break switch 20 actuated by a pressure responsive device 24 so that the pressure in the tank varies between maximum and minimum limits. An automatic drain device 26 is secured to the base of tank and comprises a spring-loaded piston 33 of sufficient width to cover the ports 42, 43 leading to an annular chamber 41. When the maximum pressure is reached, the moisture flows through ports 42 and upon a fall of pressure drains through ports 43.
