740,309. Compressors. BAUWENS, A. Jan. 18, 1954 [Jan. 17, 1953], No. 1509/54. Class 8(1). In an air compressor pressure of the lubricating oil acting on a piston 2 tends to close an unloading valve against the action of a spring 5, the valve chamber 6 being connected by a pipe 7 to a separator 8, between the compressor and the reservoir, and being at a lower level than the separator 8 so that impurities are discharged with the compressed air when the valve 1 opens. The oil pipe 4 supplying oil pressure to the piston 2 has a vent pipe 12 fitted with an interchangeable throttle 13 to adjustably delay the closing of the valve, the pipe 12 supplying lubricant to the compressor.
