Abstract
385,801. Rotary compressers. SWISS LOCOMOTIVE & MACHINE WORKS, Winterthur, Switzerland. March 21, 1932, No. 8315. Convention date, April 18, 1931. [Class 110 (ii).] A throttle valve 2 in the suction of a rotary &c. compresser is closed at starting by a spring 3, and opens under the action of the vacuum created on the suction side of the pump acting through a pipe 6 on the upper side of a piston 4, being held open subsequently by the pressure conveyed through a pipe 16 to the lower side of the piston. The pressure and suction may be transmitted to the piston 4 through liquid contained in vessels interposed in the pipes 6, 16. Fig. 3 shows the throttle valve operated as above through a weighted valve device 21 which also closes the throttle valve when the delivery pressure becomes excessive.
