Abstract

405,121. Centrifugal pumps. TAMINI, M., 2, Via Guastalla, Milan, Italy. Feb. 20, 1933, No. 5197. Convention date, Feb. 22, 1932. [Class 110 (i).] A priming pump H in the suction pipe B of a main pump A is driven by a centrifugal pump D and a turbine F. The actuating fluid, water, oil or air, passes down the conduits E1, E2 and returns through the conduits G, G1. The working fluid of the main pump A is pumped into the suction pipe B, through a valve M, until the pump A is primed. The first valve N is then opened and the main portion of the fluid pumped, passes round the priming pump. The pump D may be a separate unit and may be cut out of operation when the main pump is primed.
