Abstract

382,592. Centrifugal pumps. MASCHINENFABRIK A. D. SIHL AKT.- GES. VORM. A. SCHMID, 138, Sihlfeldstrasse, Zurich, Switzerland. July 4, 1932, No. 18870. Convention date, June 1. [Class 110 (i).] One or more ejectors 9 on the suction side of a centrifugal pump P are fed by a highpressure pump 1 which draws its water supply from a reservoir 2 replenished by the pump P. An electromagnetically actuated air valve V according to Specification 364,519 and a ball valve 11 open when the pump P stops and prevents the reservoir emptying by siphon action. The ejector 9 is provided with a central nozzle or several nozzles are arranged circumferentially round the suction pipe 4. A filter is provided in the reservoir to ensure a supply of clean water to the ejector 9. Specification 339,553, [Class 110 (i), Centrifugal and screw fans &c.], is referred to.
