Abstract
696,771. Water supply. MONO PUMPS, Ltd. Nov. 2,1951 [Nov. 9, 1950], No. 27393/50 Class 68(i) [Also in Groups XXVI and XXIX] A liquid supply to a storage tank 20 includes a quantity of air to maintain a certain pressure in the tank, an air leak-off valve 44, leading from the tank, being controlled by a float 40. A needle valve 47 opens wider when the float falls to allow a greater leak-off of air. from the tank and the fall in pressure actuates a switch 24 to start up a motor 12 which drives the pump 11. Air is fed into the suction side of the pump by way of a snifter valve 15 or on the delivery side 14 through an injector, Fig. 4 (not shown). The pump may be of the type described in Specification 400.508, [Group XXVI], and may be non-selfpriming. A non-return valve 16, drain cock 21, safety valve 23, air release cock 22 and a pressure gauge 25 are provided. The valve 47 being a close fit in a body 48. means for emitting a restricted volume of air is attained by one or more flats 50 on the valve. '
