Abstract
505,175. Engine stop-gear. MILLING TON, W. E. W. Oct. 28, 1937, No. 29458. [Class 122 (iv)] A pump is driven by a prime mover and delivery pressure acts on a diaphragm 2, loaded by a spring 181 and connected to a plunger 7. A second plunger 9 is located in the bore 8 and the control lever 12 is loaded by a spring 14 which tends to move it, through a slot 13 into the bore 8. To start the engine, the lever 12 is raised and the plunger 9 is moved in until the lever 12 may rest upon it. As the pump pressure builds up, the plunger 7 is moved by the diaphragm 2 and moves the plunger 9 from under the lever 12 and takes its place. If the delivery pressure falls the plunger 7 moves from under the lever 12 which is lowered by the spring 14 and stops the engine.
