Abstract

202,708. Phillips, H. C. May 20, 1922. Regulating delivery by opening suction valve.- Apparatus for transmitting power by liquid comprises a pump 1 and motor 3 connected by outflow and return mains 2, 4 and automatically controlled means for forcing liquid into the return main so as to set up a determined pressure therein. The means may consist of a pump 12 whose operation is governed by pistons 6, 16 subject to the pressures in the mains 2, 4, an arm 7, rod 8, and lever 9, the lever controlling the position of a rod acting on the pump ,suction valve.
