Abstract

580,604. Pumping systems. AUTOMOTIVE PRODUCTS CO., Ltd., and HENRY, H. P. June 19, 1944, No. 11665. [Classes 102 (i) and 102 (ii)] In a pumping system, e.g., for lubricating oil or remote hydraulic control, a pressure is maintained in the suction reservoir by a device, e.g., an air injector or air blower, actuated by the return flow of liquid. As shown, a pump 12 draws liquid from a closed reservoir 10 and delivers to a motor 18, exhaust from which returns through a pipe 19 and injector nozzle 23 to the reservoir. Flow through the nozzle draws air through a valve 28 and supplies it to the reservoir. Excess pressure in the pipe 19 opens a valve 33 and bye-passÞs some of the liquid direct to the reservoir. An air pressure relief valve 31 is provided.
