Abstract

1334769 Controlling pumps J LEISTIKON 25 Oct 1971 [26 Oct 19701 49408/71 Heading F1A In a high pressure pumping arrangement, e.g. for supplying a hydrodynamic cleaning device, comprising a pump 10 driven by an I.C. engine or electric motor 28 through a centrifugal clutch 40, and delivering liquid from a supply vessel 37 to an output connection 38 via an automatic pressure regulating valve 11, controlling bypass line 6a, and a stop valve 12, a device 31 responsive to the pressures in delivery lines 6 and 8 controls motor 28 or clutch 40 to stop the pump when stop valve 12 is closed. As shown, device 31 comprises a double-acting piston 32 connected to the engine fuel control 27, and biased by spring 35 to the full-speed position. When valve 12 is closed, the increase in delivery pressure causes valve 11 to connect line 6 to by-pass line 6a, the high pressure in line 8 then moving piston 32 against spring 35 to the idling- speed position, so that centrifugal clutch 40 disengages. In Fig.2 (not shown), two singleacting pistons connected by a balance beam to control 27 are respectively connected to lines 5 and 7.
