Abstract
573,362. Hydraulic systems. KEELAVITE CO., Ltd., and LEVETUS, F. B. May 11, 1944, No. 8974. [Class 69 (ii)] [Also in Group XXVIII] In a hydraulic system in which a pump A supplies a motor C, the exhaust from which is conveyed, e.g. through a main reservoir F back to the pump, an auxiliary reservoir L is provided on an injector H operated by the liquid in the circuit draws additional liquid as required to prevent cavitation or inlet of air from the auxiliary reservoir. A valve E controls the rate of flow through the motor, the pressure in the discharge pipe D under the setting of this valve acting on a responsive valve J to byepass liquid. The auxiliary reservoir may be under atmospheric pressure and may be supplied from the main reservoir through a non-return valve M. A check valve H<2> maintains pressure in the circuit when the pump is stopped. The valve M may, as shown, act as a relief valve. An accumulator may be provided of sufficient capacity to allow for change of liquid volume, e.g. by the motion of a piston independent of the injector and the relief valve.
