[Class 46.] A cartridge for filtering oil comprises a circumferential wall 15 of gauze, lined with fabric, a solid top 13 and bottom 14, a packing 25 of cotton wool or the like and a central perforated pipe 17. The pipe 17 screws into a central aperture in the detachable cover 11 of an outer casing 10. Dirty oil is supplied to the pipe 17 and the filtrate passes from the outer casing through an outlet 22.
