Abstract

428,191. Filters. BOSCH AKT.-GES., R., 4, Militarstrasse, Stuttgart, Germany. Oct. 20, 1934, No. 30079. Convention date, Oct. 21, 1933. [Class 46] A filter cartridge which is inserted as a unit into the filter in which it is used, comprises a number of annular fibrous discs, threaded on a perforated tube and held under pressure by end flanges. As shown the cartridge comprises superposed pads 13 of felt separated by metal plates 14, on a perforated pipe 11. The pads are compressed between a flange 12 fixed to one end of the pipe and a flange 18 forced into position and held there by a nut 19 screwing on an axial extension 17 of a dished member 15 which is fixed to, and closes, the other end of the pipe 11. The element is held against a packing ring in the top 41 of the filter casing 20 by a spring 23 surrounding a rod 22 which screws into the lower end of the casing and receives, at the upper end, a nut 25 to hold the top and casing together. The top is provided with an inlet passage 27 and a passage 29 to which an outlet pipe 28 is connected.
