Abstract

263,017. Blackman, A. May 10, 1926. Filters having sheet filtering - materials. - An additional filtering partition 17 of paper, asbestos, felt or textile or other fibrous material, is provided in a filter for petrol &c. of the type described in Specification 235,812 which comprises essentially a casing 1 with lower inlet 11, upper outlet 13, gauze or textile filters 16 and a perforated conical partition 20 covering a sump with drain cocks 8. The filtering member 17 is cup-shaped and has an outer protector 18 of metal gauze or wire mesh. The cone 20 may be attached to the filter 17 or the protector 18. A spring 22 holds the filter members in position. The filter member 17 may be in the form of a dome and may have a protector 18 on each side.
