Abstract
383,529. Galvanic batteries. FULLER, L., 2A, Courtfield Gardens, Earl's Court, London, FULLER, G. J. A., Brooklyn, Loughton, and SUDLOW, E. W., 13, High Road, Ilford, both in Essex. June 4, 1931, Nos. 9670/32 and 9671/32. Divided on 383,297. [Class 53.] One electrode of a storage cell consists of a lead container 10 coated on its interior with active material 12 and enclosing the second electrode which comprises a hollow core 14 surrounded by y active material 16. A flange 15 at the bottom or top or at both ends of the core 14 is provided for supporting the active material. The central electrode rests on a support 17 and is provided with perforations 20 for assisting circulation of electrolyte and with a thread at 21 for receiving a vent plug. The electrodes are provided with tongues 22, 24 which are connected to the terminals of the cell. A separator 26 is placed between the electrodes and the cell may be packed with glass wool. The cell may be enclosed in an outer protective casing 13 of ebonite, waxed cardboard, &c.
