Abstract

407,994. Accumulators. FULLER, L., 2A, Courtfield Gardens, London, FULLER, G. J. A., Brooklyn, Loughton, and SUDLOW, E. W., Abbey Road, Barking, both in Essex. Sept. 27, 1932, Nos. 26840 and 35252. [Class 53.] One electrode 10 of an accumulator is of tubular form and is covered with active material on its inner surface and encloses the second electrode consisting of active material 15 surrounding a conductor 13 and covered with a wood sheath 16. The conductor 13 rests on an insulating disc 17 and the lower end of the electrode 10 may contain an ebonite ring 29 to limit the extent of the active material which is applied by means of a machine. A long vent tube 19 is provided to prevent spraying and creeping of electrolyte. The electrode 10 may be open at the bottom in which case it is placed within an outer container for the electrolyte. The container 10 may be of round, square, hexagonal or other shape and it may be'provided on its inner surface with ribs, flanges or grooves which may be undercut.
