383,181. Combination ranges. HOBBS & CO., Ltd., B. and HOBBS, B., High Street, Blackheath, Staffordshire. April 22, 1932, No. 11556. [Class 126.] Flue dust, removing.-In a combination range having an oven above the open fireplace, the oven and its side flues are formed in a single casting which is secured to a plate 20 forming the base of the oven bottom flue 22, a soot scraper 23 being supported on the plate 20 and operated through rods 24 from the front of the oven. The plate 20 is provided with upstanding lugs in which are cast nuts 19 to receive screws passing through the side walls of the oven casting, and with lateral upstanding ridges forming guides for the ends of the scraper 23. Soot dislodged by this scraper falls down an inclined back flue 12, the front wall 10 of which is provided with a cleaning door 32. In front of the flue 12 is a partition 5 extending up from the front of the boiler or fireback 7 and fitted with a cleaning door 29. Angle-iron members 35, detachably secured by hookshaped projections 36 to the plate 5, hold the firebrick sides 37 in position. In the top of the oven is an oval manlid 26 with a doublerimmed edge 27, which allows access to the oven top flue for cleaning. The arrangement and control of the flues 22, 12 is as described in the abridgment of Specification 383,874.
