Abstract

382,610. Moulding concrete structures. WALLER, J. H. DE W., 115, Grafton Street, Dublin. July 15, 1931, No. 20318. [Class 87 (ii).] Arches, domes, floor and roof sections, and wall slabs with catenary surfaces are formed by coating with cement or concrete a freely hanging fabric of vegetable fibres, such as hessian, pervious to the concrete and stretched over supports or framework, the product being inverted when the concrete has set. Wire netting may be placed under the fabric to control the sag. Fig. 3 shows an arch for a floor or roof. Fig. 5 shows a frame for a wall slab, the fabric being laid over wires 12 to sag between them and produce concavities on one side and bulges on the other.
