Abstract

380,511. Condensers. COLLINSON, R. F., 70, The Avenue, Higham's Park, London. June 18, 1931, No. 17750. [Class 38 (ii).] A coupling unit to be tuned to a specified frequency comprises adjustable condensers adapted to be preliminarily adjusted after assembly and then fixed so that only a fine adjustment can be made. The condensers 31 comprise three springy plates 34, 37 interleaved with mica sheets and whose separation is determined by a screw 42 passing therethrough into a hole 43 in the base 10 of the unit. After assembly the screw 42 is adjusted and the member 44 with its radial arm 47 which is threaded thereon and insulated from the plates by mica washers and extends through a notched slot 48 in the base is placed in its central position and soldered to the screw allowing a fine adjustment of the capacity.
