Abstract

Receiving sets, construction of.-In a variable condenser in which plates e, separated by springs h, h<1>, j, j<1> are provided with means for adjusting the distance between them, the springs are arranged in two sets, which respectively act as conductors for the plates of opposite sign; and an inductance coil c may be wound on the casing a to form with the condenser a self-contained tuning unit for a receiving set. The plates are separated by mica discs g. The bottom plate engages the head k<1> of a screw k, the upper end of which engages a nut l mounted in a knob m, by turning which the distance between the plates can be adjusted.
