Abstract
378,685. Motor-cycle supports. TESKE, A., 1, Zschuschkestrasse, Cottbus, Germany. Sept. 29, 1931, No. 27055. [Class 136 (i).] In a supporting-device for motor cycles of the type in which a support g slides in an outer tube a under the control of a tension spring i adapted to retract it into the raised inoperative position, and is held in its raised or lowered position by a catch, the tubes a, g are of polygonal (e.g. hexagonal) cross section to prevent relative rotation, and the outer tube a is provided with lugs b, c bent into a vertical plane, so that when they are fixed to parts of the cycle (e.g. a frame member and the exhaust pipe), the outer tube a and the support g are downwardly and outwardly inclined relatively to the cycle. The support g is depressed by the pressure of the rider's foot on a plate h forming part of a bottom closure member. The catch consists of a spring-controlled pawl l, l<1> having a tooth l<2> adapted to pass through an aperture in the outer tube a and engage apertures n, n<1> respectively in the support g when the latter is in its raised and lowered positions the pawl being released by pressure of the foot on the lower part l.
