Abstract

377,992. Drying yarns and fabrics. HIBBERT, H., Woodheys, Tockholes Road, Darwen, Lancashire. March 24, 1931, No. 8971. [Class 34 (i).] In apparatus for drying yarn or textile fabrics in long length, the material 9 passes over rollers 10 through a chamber 8 provided with a perforated false floor 11 and similar false top 13. Air is drawn by a fan 7 from below the top 12 of the chamber 8, through ducts 14 and heating-chambers 5 containing steam-coils 6, and is delivered upwards into the chamber 8. Valves may be provided for allowing any desired proportion of the circulating air to escape, with admission of a corresponding proportion of fresh air. Glazed doors 15, sliding in guides 16 and counterweighted at 17, permit inspection of and access to, the interior of the chamber 8. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 235,402, [Class 34 (i), Drying gases &c.].
