377,540. Discharge apparatus. TELEFUNKEN GES. FUR DRAHTLOSE TELEGRAPHIE, 12, Hallesches Ufer, Berlin. Nov. 19, 1931, No. 32134. Convention date, Nov. 21, 1930. [Class 39 (i).] An amplifier with a glow discharge GD acting as cathode has a grid SG additional to the control grid CG. The assembly is arranged so that electrons from the whole cathode can pass freely to the other electrodes. The grid SG may be biased negatively or positively, and the electrode spacings and gas pressure may be such that little or no ionization by collision occurs in the space between the control grid CG and the amplifier anode AA. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) comprises also valves with more than one additional grid. This subjectmatter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
