Abstract

377,436. Radiants for gas fires. STOVES, Ltd. and RICHARDSON, W. H., Rainhill, near Liverpool. July 29, 1931, No. 21624. [Class 126.] Pillar-form gas-fire radiants have internal pockets formed in their rear walls with an opening 14 leading out at the upper end of each pocket. An efficient circulation of gases up the rear face of the radiant is thus produced, so as to ensure adequate heating of the internal studs 16. In the form shown, the rear wall takes substantiallv the form of inclined strips 13, the apertures 14 being formed between their adjacent edges. In a modification, the strips forming the rear wall may he parallel to the axis of the radiant, successive strips being at different distances from it, and apertures being formed at both the top and bottom edges of the outermost strips. Two or more rows of strips may occupy the width of.the radiant, the strips being in staggered formation. The side or the front walls of the radiants may be similarly formed.
