Grates; trivets.-A barless grate comprises a fixed bottom having a wide rim at the sides, the outer portions 4 of the ends of which form projecting shoulders fitting against the front edge of the setting whilst the inner portions 6 pass inwardly of the outer edge 5a of the grate. The fire is thus kept away from the side edges of the grate and cracking of the tile surround is avoided. The wide rim is preferably, as shown, continued round the front of the grate. The rim may be formed on a detachable front member forming a tidy and ventilator. Trivets 9 may be detachably and rotatably supported by pins engaging holes in the rim.
