376,656. Pistons. KRAFTFAHRZEUGBEDARF KOMMANDIT GES. SCHœTTLER & CO., 51, Chausseestrasse, Berlin. Jan. 13, 1932, No. 1016. Convention. date, Jan. 17, 1931. [Class 122 (i).] The parts of the piston body, which act as supporting or guiding surfaces, are made of cylindrical shape. The parts are reinforced by strengthening ribs, or by thickening the cross section of the supporting or guiding surfaces. The breadth of the body surface bearing against the cylinder wall is constant and unchanged by heat. The supporting or guiding surfaces stand out and are machined, the parts subject to deformation remain untooled. The cylindrically machined parts a, b are reinforced by ribs e ; the oval or elliptical parts c, d are not machined. In a modified construction the machined parts a, bare thickened. In the construction shown in Fig. 6, steel ribs fare cast in the piston. The supporting surface a is made smaller in the vicinity of the head, Fig. 7. Lugs which may be more or less bored at g are arranged beneath the bosses to balance the weight of the piston. Specification 375,975 is referred to.
