[Class 48.] The usual trawl-net is replaced by a number of smaller nets arranged side by side. With a single towing ship the outer net wings are connected to shearboards 2, 2<1> and the inner net wings may be connected to deflecting boards 5. Additional shearboards 10, 10<1>, suitably inclined to produce a lifting and spreading of hawsers 1, 1<1>, may be provided. With two ships, Fig. 8, or three, Fig. 9, the shearboards are dispensed with.
