Trawling-gear.-A net formed from an upper and a lower sheet connected together by side cables H has wings B, B<1> of substantially uniform height from the net bodv to the ends and the head rope C and ground rope D are connected to shear-boards E, E<1> by pairs of cables F, F<1>, G, G<1>, and to the side cables H, H<1>, preferably by inclined cables J. Stretching slats are, preferably, dispensed with. The cables G, G<1> may be attached to the lower corners of the shead-boards and the cables F, F<1> to the upper corners; or both cables may be passed through a double ring or eve or through separate rings O<1>, O<2> and provided with stoppers P<1>, P<2> and connected by shackles with the bracket U on the shear board. Alternatively both ropes may pass through a single ring to a common stopper and a single pennant attached to the shear board. Floats K may be attached to the head rope and to the upper cables F, F<1> and the ground rope D may be loaded. The cables G, G<1> are heavy. The forward edge of each net wing is formed with a concave outline and a cable L is secured along the edge. Specifications 175,824 and 189,750 are referred to.
