Abstract

358,395. Trawling-gear. V. D., Ltd. 54, Victoria Street, London. Feb. 5, 1931, No. 3717. Convention date, Nov. 4, 1930. [Class 48.] A net wing stretcher comprises a conical or equivalent member which is connected with its apex to the towing cable and its base to the head rope. In one form, Fig. 1, a central rod 8 is connected by shackles 13, 14 to a ring 12 on the head rope and by shackles 16, 17 to a ring 15 on the towing cable. The ground rope 4 is connected to ring 15 by a cable 20 and shackles 18, 19, 21, 22. The conical member 7 is weighted at its apex 9. The member 7 may take various forms as for example that shown in Fig. 5. In a modification, Fig. 8, the head rope 2, ground rope 4, and the side rope 44 are attached to a crossbar 46 pivoted to the base of the member 7. In further modifications the ropes are attached direct to the base or the ropes 2, 44, Fig. 9, to the crossbar 40 which is secured to the member 7 by a cable 48. The ground rope 4 is connected to a shackle 49. Specification 349,871 is referred to.
