Abstract

375,778. Doffing-apparatus for flyer spinning and like frames. FAIRBAIRN LAWSON COMBE BARBOUR, Ltd. and SUFFERN, W. S., Hope Foundry, Leeds. March 19, 1931, No. 8535. [Class 120 (ii).] In flyer spinning, doubling, twisting, and like frames wherein the changing of duplicate lifter rails is effected by a travelling carrier the carrier a is provided with a recessed part c for the reception of the rail to be moved into the operative spinning position and with an unrecessed part b for the reception of the rails with the full bobbins after spinning, and the relative movement of the lifter rails and the carriage is effected by a fixed stop i in front of the machine. The carrier is moved horizontally by rack gearing, after the lifter rail d with the full bobbins has been received, so as to position the lifter rail d<1> with the bobbins beneath the flyers, as shown in Fig. 3, further movement after replacement of the full bobbins h with empty bobbins, by reason of the engagement of the stop i, causing the lifter rail d to engage in the slot c, as shown in Fig. 5, after which the carriage is retracted in readiness for the next doff.
