Abstract

374,132. Discharge devices. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES, Ltd., BEDFORD, L. H., and COVENEY, D. G., Connaught House, Aldwych, London. March 5, 1931, No. 6848. [Class 39 (i).] A flat supporting member A for the electrodes or the electrode supports B, C is shielded from conducting deposits by means of a flat parallel member A<1> having apertures large enough to admit the electrodes or their supports without touching the said member. The members A, A<1> may be spaced by rivets F, Fig. 3, or by channel-shaped metallic members around the edges. The member A<1> may be formed of insulating material or of metal and may be adapted to act as an electrostatic screen. The Provisional Specification states also that similar shields may be provided to prevent deposition on to the pinch.
