Abstract
371,670. Transformers. LÍBL, O., 2, Neue Bismarckstrasse, Hermsdorf, Berlin. June 17, 1931, No. 17582. Convention date, July 1, 1930. [Classes 38 (ii) and 38 (iv).] In a transformer of the type in which voltage regulation is effected by relative movement of the primary and secondary windings, the primary coils d<1>, d<2>, Fig. 1, are mounted on core parts c<1>, c<2> which are capable of rectilinear motion, while the secondary windings b<1>, b<2> are accommodated in slots on the fixed core parts al, a2. Alternatively, as in Fig. 2, the movable core part a may carry the secondary windings. The polepieces may be slotted. If more regulation is required positively than negatively, or vice versa, part of the secondary winding may be accommodated on the primary core part, Fig. 5, the two parts of the secondary being connected in series. An arrangement is described for voltage regulation of a 3-phase system, transformers being employed in each phase for regulation in phase and at 90‹ thereto. The transformers may be used as variable chokes by short-circuiting one of the windings.
