Abstract
367,466. Moulding floors in situ. HEENAN& FROUDE,. Ltd. and SPENCER, A. S., Newton Heath Steel Works, Manchester. Aug. 1, 1931, No. 33636/30. [Class 20 (ii).] Floors are cast in situ by the use of arch-shaped removable metal centring A, the edges of which abut against and are trapped beneath the flanges b of the floor beams B by supporting metal plates C and hooked bolts c, Fig. 4. Removable strips D may be used to keep the lower beam flanges and surfaces free from concrete. The dimensions and arching of the shutters are so proportioned that the minimum depth of concrete consistent with the load to be supported is attained. Where the cross beams B meet a main beam F they are supported either by the top flanges of the main beam or by angles K and the shuttering G for the main beams is supported either from the downturned edges a of the arched shutters, Fig. 8, or by means of supports f secured by bolts to the flanges of the cross beams, Fig. 7.
