Abstract

365,969. Machine guns. FEENY, C. J., 73A, Queen Victoria Street, London.- (Panstwowe Wytwornie Uzbrojenia; 29, Dworska, Warsaw.) June 25, 1931, No. 18386. [A Specification was laid open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, June 26, 1931.] [Class 92 (ii).] Relates to firing mechanism for machine guns of the Colt type in which a lever 1 engages a fixed recess 6 during rearward movement of the breech-block 14 in order to cock the firing pin 11 into engagement with a verticallysliding sear 12. According to the invention, the recess 6 is formed in a slide 3 which can be actuated by the trigger mechanism 13, against the action of a spring 7, to cause a projection 2 on the cocking lever 1 to release the sear. The spring 7, in the construction shown, serves also to actuate a catch 8 for retaining the vertically-sliding rear cover 9.
